That's The Way It Always Is...

I was shipping a container to southern Africa from the USA recently. The shipping agent kept calling me back asking me to confirm and re-confirm exactly how many boxes are in the container.

“If we don’t have the exact number of boxes correct, then there is a strong chance this will be an issue when trying to clear local customs. That’s the way it always is when we ship to your part of the world…”

I knew what he meant all too well.

Is this really the way it always is? Does it always have to be this way?

I may be naive, but I don’t think it always has to be this way. I think it’s up to individuals making small choices each day.

You may not be able to change the whole system, but you can change the part of it that you’re involved in.

It shouldn’t always be this way. It’s up to us.
